If I run scientific studies to show that people in the USA are obese and have heart disease, does this prove global warming is real? Is the basic inability to understand scientific fact the reason why half the people believe anything others tell them? What is the logic that drives thinking like this?

Yes! but only if you yell real loud and insult people while doing it!

If you make predictions about increasing obesity and heart disease (or lowered lifespan) and you're wrong... well then your prediction sucks, and you shouldn't be relied on. Same if you predict "snow will be rare" and you get more snow than you've ever had.. then your predictions shouldn't be relied on. It's pretty elementary, even AGW believers should be able to get this.

Global warming is real. It's when gases like co2(carbon dioxide) trap the sun's heat around the earth.
