WHICH heart disease? "Heart disease" is a pretty general term used to describe any medical problem with the heart. There are 35 different heart defects; Endocarditis (infection of the heart valves usually caused by bacteria); clogged arteries, heart failure, congestive heart failure (they are NOT the same thing!) heart attacks, high blood pressure, and there have to be at least six more I can't think of at the moment.

There isn't a cure but early detection is key. Most people realize they have heart disease after they've had a heart attack. Get your cholesterol checked with a VAP test. This is an advanced lipid analysis. I also recommend an EBT Heart scan - my scan showed plaque in my right & left arteries as well as an enlarged aorta. I discovered my heart disease in my 30's. Healthy lifestyle is part of prevention.

Eating no animal fat helps a lot.

You might want to check this out. Inflamation and chronic high insulin levels are the biggest culprit of heart disease. Not high cholesterol because people with low cholesterol develop heart disease too. In fact believe it or not eating a high animal fat and meat (from healthy grass fed animals)and fish oil will protect your heart. It's too much sugar in the diet that may kill you. "Compelling laboratory research has repeatedly demonstrated CLAĆ¢€™s unique capability to actually reverse atherosclerotic plaque formation. " CLA is conjugated linoleic acid. CLA has prevented and dramatically reduced arterial plaque in animal models. CLA, prevents inflammatory damage and so does cod liver oil (fish oil) too. CLA is found in animal foods like butter, meat, eggs from grass fed animals or pasture raised animals. Not the one fed corn or "vegetarian feed." You won't find much CLA in those foods. For example eating eggs from chickens who can roam outside in the sunshine and eat bugs, worms and seeds are healthy for you than the confinement chickens who are mostly fen corn or soy (an unnatural diet for chickens and cows). http://thecureforheartdisease.net/ http://www.wistar.org/news_info/pressreleases/pr_5.3.07.html The Weston A. Price foundation will help you find nutient dense foods from farmers who raise animals and other produce the safe and healthy way. way.http://www.westonaprice.org Coconut oil will help too. http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/virgincoconutoil.htm
