Do dogs get heart disease from eating people food

Do dogs get heart disease from eating people food?
I have a 50 pound lab/terrier mix and will feed her... -Egg yolks from my hard boiled eggs -Turkey skin -She gets to lick every plate after I eat -If food goes bad she gets to eat that too...like the other day she got several pieces of lasagna She is a normal weight, but im wondering if letting her be a canine garbage disposal will really impair her lifespan? She gets regular dogfood, people food isn't her whole diet.

There's a reason they made dog food unless its plain rice or plain non spiced food its bad..

dogs can get high cholesterol just like people. turkey skin? not really good for anyone. it's best to just stick to her dog food. you can give treats every once in a while is okay, but every day and the foods you're giving her, are not going to benefit her health.

Yes..that's not so good. If it is not good for you to eat then it's not good for your dog. Spoiled foods could have e-coli or a number of negitive bacteria growing in it. . A dog is always a lot more healthy on a very good "well balanced" dry dog food. DP

I think you should stick to a good quality dogfood or balanced for dogs food--not bad lasagna.

Don't feed the troll, it's only trying to get everyone riled up.

No. You probably mean to ask do they get clogged arteries that lead to heart attacks, like what happens in people who eat too much saturated fat. It takes years and years for that to happen to people, ever hear of a 15yr old having bypass? More like 65 yr old. However, people food can cause pancreatitis which comes on very fast, is very painful and can kill your dog without fast (expensive) treatment. They can also get food poisoning which can be very nasty for them, and they can pass on salmonella to humans even if they don't get sick from it. Obviously, your dog is used to people food, so telling you to quit feeding it to her is not likely going to happen. Meet me half way and keep the meats, fats, skin and gravy away from her. Give her just the veggies. Just remember, no onions, grapes, raisins or chocolate. And please, no raw eggs.

That's all really bad for your dog. I'd be worried about diabetes too if I were you
