http://www.news-medical.net/?id=31066 Hypoplastic left heart syndrome likely caused by genetic factors This is a complex and rare combination of heart defects I only recently learned of when my daughter was diagnosed pre-natally. Babies only started surviving with this condition in the last 20 years or so. The oldest survivors are still in their 20's.
