Any age! I'm 20 and have had three heart attacks, and chances are I will probably not live to 30. My heart has a damaged aorta caused by overdoses of strong Ritalin-style medicine when young (Thanks Dr Ravimohammad...)

Heart disease does not discriminate. Nor does it know age, color, sex, etc. But it will follow genes BIG TIME! Smoking, second hand or direct will help corrode the artery walls. High Fat and cholesterol intake will contribute to the disease. Aspirin regimen will help thin the blood to keep platelets from sticking and causing a clot. I had 3 cardiologist tell me I am TOO young for a heart attack much less 3 blockages. I am 47,now, 46 then. Non smoker. I am not over weight. All my numbers, except my triglycerides were normal when they informed me I was in the middle of a heart attack and the sooner they stop it the less damage to the muscles itself. [normal triglycerides are a range from 50-150. Mine was 152] Three stents later and I am here to tell you nothing will stop heart disease if its in the genes. My dad had a heart attack at 42~4 by passes then. 13 yrs later angina and 5 by passes. My mom passed away to a massive heart attack at 65 with a clean bill of health from the Dr's. office the day before.

Heart disease can occur at any age. Depending on a family history and diet, it can start by age 10. If heart disease runs in a family, a person may be predisposed to it. We tend to think of heart disease happening to only to older people, but this just isn't so. Not any more. The definition of heart disease covers a number of maladies -- arteriosclerosis, atherosclerosis, congestive heart failure, heart valve problems and more. Children can be born with congenital heart disease and it can be acquired. So, no. There's no specific, certain age at which heart disease starts and no particular age that increases the chances of developing heart disease. FYI to "Eezy Breezy". This question concerned age not race, gender, diet or lifestyle.

There are different types of heart diseases, such as arrhythmias, heart attacks/coronary artery disease, abnormal heart valves, heart failure, etc. Heart disease can occur at any age. Newborn infants can have heart disease related to congenital heart conditions. The most common cause of heart disease and death in the developed world is related to blockages in the arteries that supply the heart (coronary artery disease), which results in heart attacks. The risk of heart attacks increases significantly after the age of 45 in men and the age of 55 in women. Heart attacks can occur prior to this age, especially in someone with multiple risk factors for heart disease. The best way to reduce your risk of a heart attack is to eat a healthy well balanced diet and regular exercise. It is important to have a regular evaluation by your doctor to assess your risk factors for heart disease so that they can be controlled to reduce the chance of heart disease
