What is the difference between ischemic heart disease and coronary heart disease

What is the difference between ischemic heart disease and coronary heart disease?
I'm doing a paper on cardiovascular diseases, and I'm not sure I understand the difference between coronary heart disease & ischemic heart disease. Aren't they both caused by a lack of blood/oxygen to the heart?? Please explain!!!

Coronary heart disease describes the CHANGES in the coronary artery walls. The changes are usually due to thickening (atherosclerosis) of the arterial walls due to deposits of cholesterol. Ischemic heart disease specificially means decreased blood flow to the heart. It is usually the final stage of coronary heart disease. They are sometimes used interchangably, but ischemic heart disease SPECIFICALLY connotes reduced blood supply terminating in unstable angina (chest pain) or myocardial infarction(heart attack) Hope this helps.
3 :
Coronary Heart Disease It occurs due to blockage of only the coronary Arteries causing less oxygen to heart muscle. Complete blockade Induces Attack. Cause of death is stroke or H Attack. In case of Ischaemic heart disease which is also called Angina can be induced by valvular decease or disorder of purkingi fiber may have stopped transmission of current through it to cardiac muscle which is essential for Hearts contraction & relaxations, Congestive cardiac failure due to passive venous congesion etc. But cause of death shall always be Heart Failure in case of Ischaemic Heart Desease

When you work out, you strengthen your heart (your heart is a muscle), a stronger heart can pump blood more effectively, so you have lower blood pressure. When you are over weight, your arteries clog, which raises blood pressure, because the same amount of fluid is going through smaller pipes (think of what happens when you put your finger over the nosel of a hose, high pressure, right). Heart disease, clogged arteries will cause blood reduction to the heart, heart muscle without blood will die, making it less effective at pumping blood, until it can't get blood through a clogged artery. If the artery is in the heart, heart attach. See how this works. Also, working out, has a calming effect. Try this, when you are stressed, go work out, and see if you are just as stressed after, as you were before? Good luck!
2 :
Don't forget to look at what you eat as well. It has a greater impact on high blood pressure and heart disease. Try nutritional excellence.
3 :
exercise can reduce blood pressure by indirect way ,first through decreasing the weight secondly through enhance dilatation of blood vessels and so decrease bp ,exercise help positively the heart through encouraging new collateral coronary blood vessels replacing the affected ones and also decrease bad lipid and increase good lipid HDL and exercise make heart pumping muscles more stronger

A person has to take care of their body fro9m the begining to have good health later. Many tendencies to different deases and defects are inherityed from those before us. We all must die one day and it will be blamed on one thing or another but seldom they say he died because it was time for him to die. We do wear out and are no longer able to maintain. Some much earlier than others. Most of the time once you have one of the three or even all of them the diet may give you a little mote time but you are going to die. Take care of you from the begining and your chanses of living to past 100 will be very good.
2 :
Avoidance of fat and oils in the diet may help the prevention of heart disease and diabetes. Tobacco smoking, alcoholism, Hepatitis B Virus and Human papilloma virus are implicated as the cause of cancer. Fast food is considered as junk food and it may cause obesity, diabetes and heart disease

Are electronic cigarettes safe for someone with heart disease

Are electronic cigarettes safe for someone with heart disease?
I know someone with heart disease that quit smoking and wants to try the e cigarettes. Are these safe?

Smoke lettuce...its safer.
2 :
What are electronic cigarettes? Well if its not a real cigarette then its most likely safe.
3 :
On March 27, 2009, Health Canada issued an advisory against electronic cigarettes. The advisory stated "Although these electronic smoking products may be marketed as a safer alternative to conventional tobacco products and, in some cases, as an aid to quitting smoking, electronic smoking products may pose risks such as nicotine poisoning and addiction." In many localities, the use or sale of electronic cigarettes is still illegal, such as in Australia and Hong Kong.
4 :
Someone who quit smoking should not start smoking again - tobacco cigarettes nor e-cigarettes. Please tell your friend to be proud of having quit and that there is no reason to pick-up any form of smoking again

Blood circulates within the blood vessels under pressure. This pressure normally is about 110 to 135 mm of Mercury (Hg) when the heart contracts, and this is called Systolic Blood Pressure. When the heart relaxes this pressure is about 80 to 85 mm of Hg and this is called Diastolic Blood Pressure. These values are for adults. In children these values are much less. When these normal limits of pressure are exceeded then the condition is called Hypertension (High Blood Pressure). The higher the pressure the severe the Hypertension. According to the severity of the Hypertension, it is categorized into various stages as follows:
2 :
Hypertension is a risk factor for the development of coronary artery disease, or blocked blood vessels to the heart. It also can cause/contribute to diastolic dysfunction (aka hypertensive heart disease), which can cause congestive heart failure. When hypertension is severe, it can lead to systolic dysfunction, another cause of congestive heart failure. Aside from its relationship to heart disease, it contributes to other forms of vascular disease, kidney failure, loss of vision, stroke. Control is of the utmost importance. Hope this helps.
3 :
It is a leading cause of Heart Failure. Here's a quote from a booklet called "The Healthy Heart,"which was given to a family member when he was hospitalized for CHF(Congestive Heart Failure). "When the left chamber(ventricle) of the heart pumps blood into the arteries, they stretch slightly and snap back. This adds enough pressure to move the blood all through the body. If the arteries are normal and stretch easily, there is no extra strain on the left chamber as it pumps. If the arteries are scarred or clogged with fatty deposits, they do not stretch well. Then the heart has to pump harder to force out the blood and extra fluid. This raises the blood pressure. If blood pressure stays high for a long time, the heart's left pumping chamber can become enlarged and weak. Heart failure can be the result." Form A Stronger Pump, page 20
4 :
Possibly....Heart Health or Congestive Heart Failure is a disease in which the heart muscle weakens and as a result hinders the ability of the heart to efficiently pump blood. More Info http://www.eastherb.com/Heart-Health/heart_health_s.html
5 :
Check out the links below for lots of free information on hypertension and remedies for it. There is a good PDF there too, freely downloadable.
6 :
1. Left ventricular hypertrophy... your heart gets bigger... that is not a good idea, because bigger your heart, the worst it works 2. Heart failure 3: Coronary artery disease... It is one of the MAJOR risk factors to develop it 4. Aortic valve calcification

The heart can repair itself. it is slow. and can be done, I have found many natural remedies to help the symptoms. I have been working hard for three years at optimizing my health. Limit salt #1, limit alcohol, tobacco!! limit caffeine, Chocolate has much caffeine, has to go.. Eat fresh foods ,,no caned processed foods at all,, the additives for shelf life color etc. hurt the body, Store bought bread is bad .. full of salt. I only eat home made wheat bread. Now for speed I make whole wheat dutch baby's. 1 cup wheat flour 1 egg 1 cup milk .. I fry it in grape-seed oil on medium heat.. mix in rice bran protein, or add home made salsa to the batter ,, or anything else it can take garlic or any spices. or pancake style. I oil my skin, entire body, with grape seed oil every other day. its magical I'm loosing years worth of wrinkles and it helps your body save the good fats for your heart and tissues. you wont crave fattening foods anymore when you start oiling your skin,, amazing!!! Feet also. Eat lots of good fats so you dont crave bad fats... you need fat,,, eat the good stuff!!! I go anti cancer also with my heart smart diet,, by adding celery, limes the #1 cancer fighter limes also grapefruit. pomegranate, fresh fruits. wild berries. I'll mension Rice bran protein one more time it will pull your old heart back together again go get some,, body builder protein powders are ok too. but watch the additives, salt, and caffien they add for the energy boost , read the labels.. Oral health, very important for heart health. Floss daily with tea tree oil. get a reach full sized handle flosser they work great. two drops of tea tree oil in your mouth for lowers then two more drops for upper. then use a sonic care electric tooth brush twice a day. using toms of main Cinnamon toothpaste every other time mixed with tea tree oil brushing three drops every other time,, And drink four drops of tea tree oil every day .. I just swallow it,, or make the tea like they recommend... tea tree oil is an amazing anti biotic. the germs in your teeth go straight to your heart... kill them!!! Mental health, huge component. Its all we really have. every day I make myself appreciate what I do have, and I think more and more positive every day. I'm amazed that I can be totally happy with constant chest pain , I isolate my pain as a technical issue, and leave a certain part of my brain for dealing with the pain and focusing on not over doing, but the rest of my brain I focus on pleasurable things thoughts, when I feel sorry for myself I say "oops not going to do that". and I stop thinking the negative thoughts,, they dont help,, so I dont think them!!! tell yourself every day that you are going to get and feel better soon, tell yourself all the good things that come from a slower life style, be creative and think of things you can do.. Write a book?. lay in bed and draw art? design a house? What ever.. there are no limits..!!! substance abuse , hard for many people to give up.. I quit drinking took years to finally give it up. I did not drink daily just occasional binge drinking on weekends, but it was nice to give it up all together, now in a social setting I just accept a beer when offered, and sip it, then discard it when no ones looking. to not make a big deal about not drinking,, Quit smoking took me many years. I Quit anxiety pills that made me have worse panic attacks than my first anxiety caused! (kolonapin), bad stuff, never take it... Quit Coffee, no problem for me, never drank it, it gave me palpitations. many people are addicted too caffeine it must be reduced slowly and discontinued for heart health,, Quit Chocolate. No pain pills throw them away... The doctors are limited to a hand full of medicine classes. I think they have a hard time dealing with sick people all the time and want to just say your ok sometimes, its ok, We have ten times more control with our diet and health program.. very few people give me advice on natural remedies on the various heart forums I dont know why But I want other peoples advice on heart smart diet and so on. every day I find more and better heart smart diet ideas. (fresh raw or cooked fish, deep pacific ocean fish, I'm from Seattle so I dont know about Atlantic fish ..stay away from bottom fish, I only eat cod if its from alaska) I experimented with raw red meats had good results mostly, and one stomach ache. I quit doing it now,, it does make you feel strong. oiling the skin- tried vitamin E oil, olive oil, canola oil, like grape seed oil the best. it feels good to get a self massage also relaxing,, dry skin goes away. I put it on my scalp and hair also.. I went swimming tonight and the water and chlorine bead off me !!! Oh yeah swimming is great for the heart just being in the water makes blood preassure go down I just do kick board now, slow and easy.. my heart cant take much more. Breathing exercises can keep your lungs in shape even if you are bed riden. and it helps chest pain go away.. your lungs are partners in crime with your heart ,, deep breaths to keep the lower lungs healthy.. After heart surgery they give you a breathing gaget that makes you blow hard and fast... thats fine, but its more important to do the slow deep breaths, opening up your lungs and keeping your breathing muscles in shape.. After surgery they will have you hold a pillow over your chest to turn in bed or move,, also you should inhale and hold to support the sternum when turning in bed .. it stops the compresion of the sternum , you just should not sleep on your side after surgery for a few weeks just up the angle of the bed for different positions.

You would have to give a better description than that. I mean hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can turn large portions of the heart into expanding layers that can cause massive health problems. The only treatment is to kill some of the hearth tissue to keep it in the correct shape. And there are a whole host of other less common, while keeping in mind the above disease is not common, diseases that could be described in that fashion.
3 :
Irreversible disease does sound like a possible cardiomyopathy. View the link for info on that one, but make sure you have the correct diagnosis
