First of all I am sorry to say that you had a hard young life.... But now it is time that you can control yourself. You need to try something different, the lap band or something or your life is going to be short lived. You need to push yourself harder and start walking..you are not the only one with problems and only you can decide if "you" are going to do it...you can do it...get someone to make you do it..find a person who is going to force you..you may hate them at first but then they will become your greatest person.....i have struggled with my weight but i always try new things and never give up trying.
2 :
There are only two ways to lose weight: 1) Use more calories than you eat. 2) Eat fewer calories than you use More exercise will accomplish Number 1. To accomplish Number 2, you MUST eat less. Depending on how you are exercising, you might be putting on muscle. That in itself is a good thing, because more muscle uses more blood sugar, which helps to control your diabetes. But if your exercise plan is not geared toward burning some fat, then you are accomplishing very little. For example, simply lifting weight does NOT burn fat. Due to your medical problems you need to be consulting with a personal trainer. This person can advise you for an exercise plan that will burn calories (thus reducing fat) while maintain your muscle strength. Your ALSO need to be consulting with a Nutritionist, who can help you build a diet that is nutritious, does not violate your Diabetic Diet guidelines, and yet lowers your caloric intake so that you lose weight.
3 :
input/output seriously.low carbs/calories

To answer the question in bold, yes, having heart disease can definately make your midsection swell...it might be ascites. I'd consult your cardiologist about increasing your exercise regimen... depending on all of the details in your particular case, changing your diet/exercise schedule or amping it up too much could be extremely detrimental. If you also have shortness of breath or find exercise induces wheezing, that may be a sign that your distended abdomen is associated with heart disease. Definately bring it up with your doctor. :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascites

This ebook is terrific. I followed its simple instructions and created a food plan for myself and almost immediately I began feeling better and I haven't had any gout symptoms for over a year! Source: http://www-trynow.com/gout-cure.php

By physical verification of symptoms, ECG and Echocardiogram tests. The most common cause of heart disease is a narrowing of or blockage in the coronary arteries supplying blood to the heart muscle itself (coronary artery disease). Some heart diseases are present at birth (congenital heart disease). Other causes include: * Hypertension * Abnormal heart valve function * Abnormal heart rhythm * Weakening of the heart's pumping ability caused by infection or toxins
2 :
This Patient Guide is written for the loved ones of heart patients who are dealing with the short-term stress that comes with a test, procedure or recent diagnosis of heart disease. It explains why support is so important to a loved one with heart disease. It also offers practical strategies on how to support a loved one while also taking care of yourself.
3 :
you need to see your doctor then a heart doctor he will give you a stress test then maybe a catheraction egk test good luck sorry i cant spell im tired lol
4 :
I can tell you how I got diagnosed with heart disease. After working among smokers for about 25 years in and out of doors and breathing all that ETS my liver's ALT numbers got slightly elevated so I couldn't donate blood anymore. Then I could not walk for 5 minutes without a chest pain because I got clogged coronary arteries. I had a angiogram and angeoplasty procedure to correct the problem. My cardiologist diagnosed my condition - second hand tobacco smoke also known as environmental tobacco smoke is the cause of my heart disease and clogged arteries.
5 :
In my case, I passed out while driving to work. Crashed into a telephone pole and had a paramedic thump my chest twice. Come to find out I had a blockage of the LAD. 100% no less. I would not recommend this diagnosis it would have been a lot easier to go to a cardiologist.

A heart specialist may use the following methods to diagnose a heart disease: -CT (Computed Tomography) -MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging -X-Ray -Ultrasonography -etc

high blood sugar damages all of your blood vessels. Your eyes and kidneys and fingertips and toes have particularly delicate, fragile vessels, so the damage will first manifest there. Your heart pumps blood, but it relies upon a network of vessels so that the heart muscle itself gets plenty of blood, and damaging those vessels has serious consequences for your heart. The damage occurs through osmotic disruption of proper function. The osmotic shift also increases your blood volume (your body retains water to try to dilute the sugar in your blood), which increases blood pressure and puts additional strain on the heart.
2 :
YES. Having high sugar content in your blood can damage and "furr up"/narrow your blood vessels. Small vessels like the ones that goes to supply blood to your heart and kidneys are especially prone. Your nerves will also suffer and your vision for example will go funny. So if you are a diabetic it is vital to have good control of your blood sugar to prevent all these damages from occurring inside your body. (I know it's easier said than done). Possibly seek help from a dietitian

I think that I may have heart disease and I'm 17. How can I tell

I think that I may have heart disease and I'm 17. How can I tell?
I have quite a few of the symptoms like severe pain in my back when I stress it. Also, I'll have pressure on my chest, throat, and stomach sometimes, it even becomes difficult to breathe. It almost feels like I'm being flattened by a large rock. I think that I may be at risk of getting heart disease, or I may have it already. Am I overreacting, or may I have (or be at risk of) heart disease?

Cardiovascular disease includes a number of conditions affecting the structures or function of the heart. They can include: Coronary artery disease (including heart attack) Abnormal heart rhythms or arrythmias Heart failure Heart valve disease Congenital heart disease Heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy) Pericardial disease Aorta disease and Marfan syndrome Vascular disease (blood vessel disease) if it feels like your being crushed it could be the warning signs of a heart attack so if you feel it agian go to the hospital and see if they know any thing Just to be safe! Good Luck
2 :
as you said it is no heart disease, (over reacting) so relax
3 :
your overreacting. its very unlikely to have heart disease at 17 unless you were born with it and from the sound of your symptoms it doesnt sound much like heart problems. If your really that worried then go to the doctor. And i cant tell if you are at risk because you dont say your weight, your eating habits, your exercise habits, if you smoke or do drugs or drink ect.
4 :
I doubt it is your heart. I think you may have a problem with your gallbladder. More and more young women are now getting their gallbladder removed because of problems. Make an appointment with your doctor. Explain your symptoms and they can refer you to a specialist. No one can diagnose you over the internet. Good luck

Since Rush said that there is no connection between smoking and heart disease, what caused his heart problem

Since Rush said that there is no connection between smoking and heart disease, what caused his heart problem?
Rush Limbaugh said that the "anti-capitalist lefties" fabricated data linking smoking and heart disease because they wanted to stop capitalism. Unlike most other US products, exports of US cigarettes to poor countries are way up and lefties can't stand an American companies lie Philip Morris making profits off their excellent products.

You mean, heart problems never occur naturally or as a result of genetics? That's news to me! Do you have a source for your information? I tried google, but didn't see anything...

Oxycontin he has a Heart Problem because he uses Illegal Drugs without telling him the Dangers of the drug, well He is gotta be a Fool, for taking that stuff.
3 :
Keith you can't name a single person on this earth that hasn't had or will have in the future something wrong with their heart. Be it slow heartbeats, cholesterol, etc.....And look at all the stress that man endures.

You are aware, aren't you, that Obama is a smoker?
5 :
He'll probably blame is exwives...all 4 of them !
6 :
He also weighed 290 last march and weighs 210 lbs today. Losing 80 lbs can be a shock to a 58-year old's system. You know, Obama admitted to using cocaine in his autobiography, so if you're going to rant about unhealthy lifestyles and hypocrisy, start there.
7 :
He mixed Oxycontin and viagra
8 :
Another example of "because I said it, it makes it true"... must have said this after he came out insupport of slavery, huh? But don't let the truth get in the way with a good story, I always say... and be careful: I remember you were one of thsoe who cried because Teddy wasn't shown "proper defference". Wouldn't want to be caught in hypocrisy now, would you?
9 :
Well, it could be all the Oxycontin or the booze. Or maybe the crack cocaine he is rumored to use regularly. Or maybe all the Viagra he takes before he screws little Dominican boys. Or the disgusting fat slob's piggy waist line. Or maybe a reaction to all the blubber removal surgery the filthy pig has had. Who cares? When he's gone, only the insane will mourn. He needs to be gone, whatever way it happens. We already know, no matter what, the scum maggot hate monger's demise will be "blamed" on godless liberals, and the lunatic filth who follow him will declare the maggot a "patriot" and a "hero". He's a patriot and hero very much like Benedict Arnold, Charlie Manson, Jeff Dahmer, Vidkun Quisling, and Judas Iscariot. THAT kind of "special"!!!! We need less of his sort of pernicious, brainwashing, mind numbing hate monger, not MORE. Murdoch be damned!! Those who helped make this criminal monster need to be hunted down, identified, and treated the way they deserve

Am I going to die of heart disease

Am I going to die of heart disease?
I just read yahoo's article about type D personalities, I identify with alot of it, both of my grandfathers died of heart disease. And im not exactly the most fit person. I am quite young, so am I destined to die early? or is there still hope, and if there is, what do i need to do? Type "D" personalities were reported on by yahoo http://health.yahoo.com/experts/heartdisease/1025/are-you-a-type-d-personality alot of good answers here, keep it up

No, you are not going to die of heart disease if you heed the warning and start taking better care of yoru body now. (1) Eat right; (2) Exercise; and (3) Learn to handle stress in safe, approopriate ways.
2 :
Hello there you need to go to your Dr and talk to him/her about your worries,as they are the only qualified people to help you on this,i hope all goes well for you
3 :
Only God knows. I would take steps to live a healthier lifestyle and get a physical. Other than that, you never really know, so just live, love, and be happy.
4 :
Get off the couch, or chair. Live life to the fullest as much as possible then at least when you die, you die with a smile on your face. Life is short regardless of when or how!! Cherish every moment.
5 :
That's quite a big question to answer. My opinion is that you wont. But its best to ask the people who has studied the heart for many years: Cardiologists.
6 :
Well, you did not mention what type of personality that D is. This is what I think. Try not to stress out too much on the small things in life and if you have a lot of anger in your life let it go. As for your grandfathers dying of heart disease, that depends on their age. This is something you can bring up to your doctor on your next visit and find out what he says. In the mean time. chill out and enjoy your life.
7 :
Hey if you think so, you will die soon! Never think of death! It's something that will happen to everyone at the last day of their life. So don't be crazy....... live happy.
8 :
Check your blood lipids and cholesterol and keep them down.
9 :
40% of americans die of heart disease. period. sure if you have a "type D" personality (which ive never even heard of, thought it was just A or B) you might have a very small increased risk. but anyway, by not smoking, drinking in moderation, keeping their weight reasonable and excercising a couple times a week, versus not doing those things the average peron reduces their risk of diabetes by 90%, heart disease by 70%, and cancer by 60% and add about 10 years to your life expectancy. im not making those numbers up, its something to keep in mind. but if youre young dont fret and worry about dying... youre decades off from that. dont give yourself too much stress
10 :
s what you need to do right now is live ,celebrate life remember this life by the inch is a cinch by the yard it's hard ,you can choose to live or die people are living with diseases that have taken there loved ones and they may have to same condition and choose to live with heart disease not die from it

if someone is diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease what does he have to do

if someone is diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease what does he have to do?
a friend had a baloon angioplasty a few months ago. now he tells me that his diagnosis writes that he has ischaemic heart disease. is it serious??
Heart Diseases - 1 Answers

balloon angioplasty is one intervention that can open blood vessels to permit blood flow to an ischemic area. ischemic means, in this context, an area of tissue that is starved from lack of blood. it is possible that not all of his vessels were amenable to angioplasty, so those areas could be ischemic. it is also possible that after blood flow was restored, that some areas of his heart just did not revive, and are still dead; therefore he would still have ischemic heart disease. The heart is pretty resilient, and there are people who do okay with only 10% of it working. Medications can help to compensate for the decrease in heart function (heart failure

How will binge drinking (excess of 5 drinks) two times weekly affected a person with heart disease

How will binge drinking (excess of 5 drinks) two times weekly affected a person with heart disease?
I am wondering if there is a medical doc out there who could give me some insight into a situation with a loved one? He is diagnosed with heart disease and the related med. conditions that go with this dx. He has also had kidney stone problems, new issues, for the past two months. Seems after he binge drinks, only red wine, of course....Good for the heart. He has to miss work the next day and attributes it to upset stomack and kidney stone pain. He has been a long time heavy drinker for most of his life and he is 51. Tryglycerd. levels not in good zone and either is HDL, too low. Continues to drink and has become emotionally and physcially numb. Zero sex drive and desire for affection and wants to end our relationship because I need more. Many issues here. Is it the alcohol. I keep thinking he is going to die soon if he continues with his denial.

He is an alcoholic..he needs serious help, BUT he has to want the help. He is causing serious damage to his body and hurting everyone around him. You can go to a Alanon group (not sure if I spelled it right) for partners and/or family of alcoholics, they are free and all over the US
2 :
Your man is an ALCOHOLIC and needs to 'stop drinking entirely' for his own 'good health' ... and he also needs to start seeing a 'counselor' to deal with the 'emotional problems' he has. He sounds 'clinically depressed' and may need to be on medication. His 'sexual non-response' is probably because of one of the 'medications' he's taking, and if that is a problem for EITHER of you he needs to talk to his doctor about possibly 'changing his medication' to one that does not have a negative effect on sexual function. His 'denial' is also a 'mental health issue' so you may have to 'force him' to see the necessary people to help him 'get better' ... and if you truly love him, you'll do that, even if it means that he 'hates you' for awhile ... once he's 'better' he'll probably apologize and thank you for 'sticking with him' when he couldn't 'stick up for himself' in the way he needs to so he can get better.
3 :
Hi, I'm sorry you're having such a tough situation to deal with. Couple things. First, his alcoholism will not only make the heart disease worse, but will inhibit any drugs he is taking to help with the effects of HD. Second, new research has show pretty conclusively that the positive effects of red wine are duplicated with grape juice. So no more red wine for the heart excuse!! He can drink the juice instead. Third, with the issues he is facing, and you as well, I think a therapist would be helpful. His sex drive is getting triple slammed by things that, on their own, can shrink the libido big time: 1. heart disease 2. alcoholism 3. depression. Good luck!
4 :
If he has an enlarged heart from drinking, it will kill him fairly soon if he keeps drinking. Check if his ankles are edemic (swollen). If they are, he has to quit drinking yesterday, change his diet, and take an ACE inhibitior, before his heart quits altogether.
