Rheumatic fever is a nonsuppurative, acute inflammatory complication of group A streptococcal infection, causing combinations of arthritis (inflammation of a joints), carditis (inflammation of the heart), subcutaneous nodules, erythema marginatum (a type of erythema multiforme in which the reddened areas are disk-shaped, with elevated edges), and chorea (a nerve disease with involuntary and irregular movements). Diagnosis is based on applying the Jones criteria to information from history, examination, and laboratory testing. Treatment includes aspirin or other NSAIDs, corticosteroids during severe carditis, and antimicrobials to eradicate residual streptococcal infection and prevent reinfection

What part of the body does congenital heart disease affect

What part of the body does congenital heart disease affect?

Heart Diseases - 2 Answers

1 :
It depends on which congenital heart disease you are talking about. You need to specify. Congenital means present at birth. Some are fatal, some are not.
2 :
Clearly it affects the heart the most. Lungs are often damaged by high pressures due to hypertrophy of the right side of the heart. Other organs in the body can be affected by high pressures as well as by pooling of the blood if one is in congestive heart failure

Is there a bright future for children born with congenital heart disease

Is there a bright future for children born with congenital heart disease?

Generally yes, the future is perfectly bright, sometimes surgery is the best cure and is generally very effective. However it does depend on the specific problem and whether there are other problems also.
2 :
No, that is wrong to say. It strongly depands of the type of congenital error. The small defects, if treated well, have a good prognosis, but not excellent. In the future most of them will need surgery eventually. And regarding the large defects, even with early surgery the life will be shorter. However, it mainly depends on the type of congenital disease, and it is not possible to say, with the information given, that the future is bright or not. The possibility remains.
3 :
YES!!! there is! But, I will say that is does indeed depend on the type of CHD and the severity of CHD, along with the babies general health. 90% of CHD babies will eventually have to have some kind of heart surgery and some will not make it through but most will. The future is becoming brighter with technology and advanced treatments for babies with CHD. But it does depend. MOST CHD'ers have a bright future =)
4 :
Depens on the disease, but one must never give up hope.
5 :
I am not a doctor b but yes why not. These children have the same rights like normal kids. I do understand that there are limitations on their lifestle. In this time, I am sure there are ainvasive and Non Invasive procedures avialble

The doctor may prescribe one or the other drug treatments include: Drugs that lower cholesterol, which can reduce levels of "bad" cholesterol in the blood while increasing the concentration of "good" cholesterol (high density lipids). The drug is chosen according to the ratio between various types of blood cholesterol;

It could be many things, from something really minor to something that you should definitely have checked out. Even caffeine can cause heart palpitations. I don't know you're medical history, but asthma medications can cause heart palpitations.
2 :
maybe caffeine, or anxiety. could be a number of things
