Can You Do Martial Arts If You Suffer from a Chronic Illness ie. Heart Disease?
I was wondering on if it is safe / recommended to practice martial arts if you have a life threatening illness like heart disease or palpitations?

You could, but it would depend on the Martial art you were looking into. Also, I would ask my doctor first, it all depends on the person and the unique situation.

I would first recommend Qigong training. It will help your condition. Afterwards you can do some good Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan, then Hsing Yi Chuan/Xingyiquan and then Pakua Chang/Baguazhang. These are all Internal Arts and I included alternate spellings. Research them thoroughly.

U should always check with ur dr before starting any form of exercise if u have a health condition. I would suggest u take up an Internal MA such as Taijiquan or Baguazhang.

I would first follow suit with the Dr. permission, but I would also step out of that societal mold for a moment to offer my own personal experience. I have suffered from injuries which 'western medical science' could not properly assess, or fix (not the same thing or in the same instance). Through diligent practice in Tai Chi, Qigong, and Neigong I have rid myself of most of the pain and other issues with those injuries. I still have a long way to go, but it's progress that otherwise would not have happened. I used to have to sleep with a mouthpiece, a pillow under one shoulder, and at least four IB tablets every night or with Skelaxin, or another painkiller. I don't have to work so hard anymore thanks to my diligent practices with Kung/Gong and Taiji
