I'm not gonna give out numbers, but what I will say is that smoking does not cause heart disease. There are a variety of things that cause it. I would say that more nonsmokers get heart disease. It can happen to anybody.

First of all, vlr723 is WRONG, Smoking can cause heart disease, b/c by compromising your lungs you decrease the amount of oxygen to your heart, therefore increasing its stress & pumping abilities which leads to "TADA!", Heart Disease. You can check with the American Heart Association for statistics. RN
